Hermosa Beach Homeowners Pushing Against City's Crackdown on Short-Term Rentals
The homeowners say they have been unfairly targetted and fined without due process.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- Hermosa Beach is one of a handful of cities in the South Bay that bans short-term rentals and several homeowners are pushing back against the city's crackdown, calling it a violation of their due process, according to the Beach Reporter.
Homeowners who advertise their homes on short-term rental sites, such as Airbnb, would get a warning letter from Hermosa Beach, and if they don't comply with the warning then they could face criminal charges and fines, according to the Beach Reporter.
Currently, there are six criminal cases pending, according to Hermosa Beach City Attorney Michael Jenkins. Homeowners on two of those of those cases say they have been unfairly targeted and fined without due process, according to the Beach Reporter.
