Hermosa Beach May Start To Aggressively Go After Violators Who Block Sidewalks

The enhanced enforcement is a part of an effort by the city to be in compliance with federal mandates to make public sidewalks accessible.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- Hermosa Beach may begin to aggressively enforce blocked sidewalk violations, according to the Easy Reader News.

The enhanced enforcement is a part of an effort by the city to be in compliance with federal mandates to make public sidewalks accessible for the disabled, according to the Easy Reader News. The enforcement won't begin right away, however, as the City Council will need to approve the enforcement and there will need to be a public education period to let people know about it, the Easy Reader News reported.

Blocking the sidewalk may cause safety hazards as people may be forced go around on the street, exposing them to risks from passing traffic.
