Hermosa Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade Will Be March 11

Up to 100 local businesses, civic organizations and school marching bands will take part in the seven-block parade.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — The 23rd annual Hermosa Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held Saturday, March 11, the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau said.

A popular tradition in Hermosa Beach, the parade, which will begin at 11 a.m., draws more than 15,000 spectators and participants, the Chamber said. Sponsors of this year’s parade include Kinecta, Chevron, Athens Services, Patrick Molloy’s and E3 Vehicles, according to the Chamber.

Up to 100 local businesses, civic organizations and school marching bands will take part in the seven-block parade, the Chamber said. The Irish theme of Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated by the many participants including bagpipers, the LAPD Emerald Society, green-clad locals on creative floats and numerous custom-made bicycles, Irish dancers, Storm Troopers, Brazilian dancers and four-legged friends from the Irish Setters Club of Southern California.

KTLA’s meteorologist, and Hermosa Beach resident, Vera Jimenez will be announcing the parade at the step-off location. Jimenez owns the Hermosa Beach Fish Shop. Hermosa Beach Man and Woman of the Year, Ryan Nowicki and Jackie Flaherty, along with various dignitaries and elected officials will be featured in the parade.

The parade begins at the staging area near City Hall on Valley Drive. In case of rain, the parade will be rescheduled for March 18.
