Hermosa Beach Urging Residents to Report Airplane Noise
Hermosa Beach was one of the cities LAX said would be affected by the alternate flight path as the airport retrofits its runways.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- With the runway retrofitting at LAX, more planes are flying over residential areas and the city of Hermosa Beach are urging residents to report noise complaints, according to the Easy Reader News.
“Sometimes it sounds like planes are coming right into the bedroom or the living room, which is quite disturbing,” Andrea Valcourt told the City Council last month, as reported by the Easy Reader News.
Flights departing LAX typically take off over the ocean, limiting the noise impact to the Beach Cities, but the recent construction at the airport has changed that. LAX is undergoing a federally mandated retrofit of the runways. With that, comes noise complaints from residents, according to the Easy Reader News.
