Ex-Hermosa man's tax case
A former resident of Hermosa Beach for failing to report nearly $1 million of income on his tax returns. Joseph Ford Proctor, 66, raised money from investors and then wired it all to personal bank accounts used by his wife, according to authorities.

Council talks cupcake shop
Frosted Cupcakery in the Bijou building on Hermosa Avenue, where Coffee Bean formerly sat. The bakery requested permission from the City Council on Tuesday to make some alterations to a portion of the building in preparation for the possible move.
