More Than $153,000 Raised For Alzheimer's Association In Hermosa Beach
Nearly 400 South Bay residents came together to participate in the association's Beach Cities Walk to End Alzheimer's.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Nearly 400 South Bay residents raised more than $153,000 at the Alzheimer's Association's Beach Cities Walk to End Alzheimers last weekend in Hermosa Beach.
Participants in the walk honored those affected by the disease with the Promise Garden ceremony, an experience that signifies solidarity in the fight against Alzheimer's. People added different colors of flowers to the garden that signified their connection and personal reasons to end the disease.
“We are so thankful to those who came out for the Beach Cities Walk to End Alzheimer’s," said Donna Cohen, Beach Cities walk manager. "Your contribution is invaluable in helping families and loved ones impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.”

The top fundraising group at this year's walk was 13th Hole, a group led by Andy Elkin. The group raised over $60,000 on Saturday, Oct. 1. The funds raised at the Hermosa Beach walk will help the Alzheimer's Association serve more people and their caregivers in the community.
“We are especially grateful to Andy Elkin and people like him who are completely committed to this cause,” Cohen said.
