No Enterovirus D68 at Manhattan Beach Unified, District Says
A private school put out incorrect information.

Despite information disseminated by a private school that a student at Pennekamp Elementary School has been infected with Enterovirus D68, that’s not true, says a Manhattan Beach Unified School District official.
Ellyn Schneider, executive director of student services, said the information Montessori School of Manhattan Beach distributed in a letter to parents about local infections incorrectly stated a student at Pennekamp contracted the virus.
“It’s totally incorrect,” Schneider said.

Patch has asked Montessori officials for comment.
Meanwhile, on Oct. 6, the principal at Hermosa View School in Hermosa Beach sent out a precautionary email, informing the community that a parent had turned over a written doctor’s diagnosis of Enterovirus D68 for one of the students there.

Information about the ailment is available at the Centers for Disease Control website.
