Running, Parading, Playing Ball

School bands, boy scouts, girl scouts, and the rest of the community are all preparing to parade Hermosa Beach's streets Saturday in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Here's a quick list of the family-friendly fun coming soon:

Run Club

Hermosa Valley students can get some weekly exercise by joining the Run Club. The group meets at the school every Thursday at 3 p.m. to jog around town. The young runners normally finish around 4 p.m.

Paddy's Parade

Youngsters can either participate in or watch Hermosa's annual parade Saturday. Floats will begin to step in line at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Pier Avenue and Valley Drive.

Ball Games

Now that , Little League teams will face off in a series of games Saturday:

In Triple A, the Bulls play against the Lugnuts at 8:30 a.m. on Clark North Field. At the same time, the Thunder and Sand Gnats face off in Single A on Clark South Field, and the River Bandits play against the Bees in Double A on Clark East Field.

In Single A, the Owlz play against the River Dogs at 10:15 a.m. on Clark South Field. The Threshers and Mud Hens face off in Double A at 11 a.m. on Clark East Field. In Single A, Bats and Raptors play at 12 noon on Clark South Field.

In Double A, the Hot Rods play against the Rattlers at 1:30 p.m. on Clark East Field. The Rookie League's Diamondbacks and Cubs face off at 2 p.m. on Clark South Field.

The Rookie League's Giants and Dodgers play at 3:30 p.m. on Clark South Field. Then in Majors, the Bruins and Lions face off at 4 p.m. on Clark East Field, while the Mustangs and Waves play on Clark North Field. 

In Rookie League, the Phillies take on the Mets at 5 p.m. on Clark South Field. Then in Juniors, the Manhattan Beach Muckdogs and the Hermosa Beach Sea Dogs end the day at 7 p.m on Clark Field.
