Sandbags Available For Free For Hermosa Beach Residents At City Yard

Residents will need to provide a valid ID to pick up the bags. The city urges residents to prepare for upcoming storms.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA -- In advance of a major storm predicted to hit the Southland on Friday, the city of Hermosa Beach announced it is giving out 10 free sandbags for residents to prepare for inclement weather.

Residents will need to provide a valid ID to pick up the bags at the City Yard, 555 Sixth Street. Sandbags are available for pick up during the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The Hermosa Beach Fire Department will have a limited supply of sandbags to issue when the City Yard is closed. Residents will be given ten free sandbags with a valid ID. Sandbags will be available between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

If you plan to pick up sandbags at the Fire Department, please call (310) 376-2479 to arrange for pick up. When you arrive at the fire station, please ring the doorbell (located under the emergency phone line) to alert staff of your arrival.
