Summer Showers Delight L.A. Residents
There's still a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms across the coast and valleys Friday morning.

Monsoonal moisture brought warm, muggy weather and even some scattered showers to parts of Los Angeles Thursday.
Only a few hundredths of an inch of rain fell in most places, including at the Santa Monica Pier, Los Angeles International Airport and Hollywood Bowl, National Weather Service meteorologists said.
There's a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms early Friday morning, then a cooling trend will begin over the weekend, according to the Weather Service.

Summer rain shower, with a thunderstorm promised for tomorrow. I could get used to this.
The Weather Services had issued a special weather statement for possible thunderstorms Thursday for the county's local coastal areas.
These "somewhat rare" summertime nocturnal thunderstorms result from a combination of upper level disturbance moving over coastal waters, as well as plenty of mid level monsoonal moisture and an unstable atmosphere, meteorologists said.
