Walk and Play Ball

Hermosa Beach families can walk the Strand for a good cause this weekend, and we list upcoming Little League games. Here is a roundup of local happenings:

Walk for Water

The Samburu Project returns to Hermosa Beach on Sunday for the  event. Families can register to walk a four-mile loop along the Strand with other volunteers to raise money for clean drinking water in Kenya. There will also be a pancake brunch. The walking begins at 8 a.m.

Ball Games

With the rain expected to clear this weekend, Little League teams will face off in a series of games if the weather permits. Here is the schedule for Saturday:

In Triple A, Express faces the Lugnuts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The Bees and Threshers play in Double A on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Then at the same time, in Single A, the Bats bat against Thunder.

For more Single A, the River Dogs face Sand Gnats at 10:15 a.m. Then in Double A, Rattlers take on the Mud Hens at 11 a.m., and at the same time in Triple A, MB Monarchs face the Bulls and Storm face MB Elite Giants at 11:30 a.m.

In Single A, the Raptors see the Owlz at noon. In Majors, MB Hurricanes take on the Waves at 1:30 p.m. and at the same time in Double A, the Hot Rods take on the River Bandits.

The HB Sea Dogs and RB Cubs face off at 3 p.m. in Juniors, along with the MB Muckdogs and HB Titans. Rookie League has a game at 3:30 p.m. with the Cubs and Dodgers.

In Majors, the Lions face the Mustangs at 4 p.m.—at same time, the Dirt Bags take on the Bruins. In Rookie League, the Diamondbacks and Padres play at 5 p.m. Rounding out the day, RB Reds face HB Spyder in Juniors at 7 p.m.
