Father's Day
Local restaurants extended serving hours and debuted special Father's Day lunch menus on Sunday. Sangria hosted a fundraiser for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The restaurant donated a portion of its Father's Day earnings to the organization.

Surf Files
From "The Hill" to "The Rat," South Bay surfers divulged their favorite secluded surfing spots in and around Hermosa Beach. Local surfers have also been invited to upload their own surf videos to Hermosa Beach | Patch on Facebook.

City Budget
Hermosa Beach City Council adopted the 2010-2011 fiscal year budget on Tuesday, which is $27 million. Financial director Viki Copeland helped the city plan its spending to avoid layoffs and tapping into limited reserves.
Pomp and Circumstance
Hermosa Beach students at Mira Costa and Redondo Union high schools graduated on Thursday, some preparing for futures in college. Sixteen of Mira Costa's graduating seniors earned a cumulative GPA of 4.0, naming them valedictorians of the class.
