Hermosa Beach residents to present the City Council with concerns about the number of tattoo parlors planning to open soon in town. The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in September that the city’s previous ban on tattoo businesses was unconstitutional as tattooing is protected by the First Amendment.

Alcohol Policy
The City Council to direct the Planning Commission to gather public input on regulations and permitting for alcohol-serving establishments. The council also discussed ways to reduce the existing and unused hours at alcohol-serving restaurants and place a cap on the number of such restaurants in the upper Pier Avenue area.
School Panel
The School Board to serve on four different committees to further research options to sustain Hermosa Beach schools. The teams are: parcel tax committee, charter schools committee, unification-consolidated administration committee, and a committee to study developing a minimum programs curriculum.
