Casita Verde Seeking Funds for Pre-School Sound Check
The school gets so loud, the Federal Head Start program has is requiring a sound check before they allow any expansion of La Casita's program for low income students.

Expansion efforts at La Casita Verde, a Mount Washington based preschool, are being stalled due to concerns about excessive decibel levels inside its sonically supercharged classroom, according to The Eastsider L.A.
According to the Eastsider, the classroom gets so loud, the federal Headstart program is requiring La Casita to "conduct and pass a sound test" in order to receive funds to expand its program for low income students.

Parents and staff from La Casita went before the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council in August to seek $2,500 in funds to help pay for the sound test and needed improvements.
has already pledged $2,500 toward the project, and l member Janet Dodson said the HHPNC would likely be pitching in as well.

"The next step is for the proposal to go to the budget and finance committee, probably at the end of October, for check up, and then a return to the doard for final approval, and delivery to the Departmento of Neighborhood Empowerment for their oversight and check writing," Dodson said.
