Video: Firefighters Extinguish Tire Fire on North Fig

LAPD Firefighters took about 25 minutes to extinguish a tire fire at Guanajuato New & Used Tires near the 4000 block of North Figueroa on Friday afternoon around 1 p.m. 

Firefighter Matt Laurin from Station 1 told Highland Park-Mount Washington Patch that the arson unit is still looking into the cause of the fire, which he said is standard procedure when the cause is not readily apparent.

As of 3:00 p.m. traffic was still being blocked off around Avenue 44 and North Figueroa as crews continued to wet down and ventilate the area.
