L.A. Matsuri Taiko Performs at Awesome Playground
The drumming group was on hand while the Awesome Playground raised money for tsunami victims in Japan.
The sound of drumbeats resonated along York Blvd. on Sunday afternoon as L.A. Matsuri Taiko performed in front of Highland Park's indoor play place, .
Normally closed on Sundays except for private parties, Awesome Playground owner Kay Osorio opened the facility to the public and pledged to put all proceeds from the day's business toward the tsunami effort via the Japanese Red Cross foundation.
"It's just a terrible tragedy, and we wanted to do something to help," Osorio said.

Matsuri Taiko donated their drumming talents to the Awesome Playground for free and perfomed for about half an hour before giving way to the indoor play.
