What They Said: CICLAVIA

Highland Park-Mount Washington Patch rounds up reaction from local cycling enthusiasts and bloggers about this weekend's cycling event.

Los Angeles continued to chip away at its reputation as one of the least cyclist friendly cities in the country by hosting its second CicLAvia event on Sunday.

A seven mile stretch of city streets between Boyle Heights and Downtown were closed to motor vehicle traffic, giving Angelenos an opportunity to take in their city on two wheels. Scooters, skateboards, rollerskates and good old fashioned feet were welcome to participate in the festivities as well.

The event was also a boon Highland Park business, as the Flying Pigeon booked all of their rental bikes for CicLAvia.
