Actor Alan Ruck Sued By Man Injured In Pizza-Shop Crash

A man is suing Alan Ruck after the actor crashed his truck into a Hollywood pizza shop in October.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man involved in a crash crash with actor Alan Ruck sued the "Succession" star this week, claiming Ruck caused the accident because he was "driving recklessly," leaving the man with "serious injuries."

Lawyers for Horacio Vela filed the negligence suit in Los Angeles Superior Court Wednesday seeking unspecified damages and legal costs. A Ruck representative could not be reached for comment.

The suit stems from an Oct. 31 crash that occurred at the busy intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue. Surveillance video obtained by KTLA appears to show Ruck's Rivian R1T tuck rear-ending a car stopped at a traffic light before hitting another car and finally crashing through a wall at Rafallo's Pizza.

Vela claims that Ruck "abruptly and forcefully accelerated" his truck while stopped at a red light, causing his truck to strike Vela's car, knocking it into another vehicle, according to the suit.

Vela was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His car was totaled, according to the suit.

KTLA reported last month that police ruled out the possibility that Ruck committed a crime as part of the crash.
