The world will always remember Sir Roger Moore as James Bond, the fictional British Secret Service spy who loved women and sipped on martinis — shaken, not stirred. As a tribute to the man who played Agent 007 for the longest time in the James Bond franchise, we revisit the famed actor’s Bond movies.


“Live and Let Die” (1973) — Roger Moore, Jane Seymour, Yaphet Kotto, directed by Guy Hamilton

“Live and Let Die” is Roger Moore’s first outing as James Bond 007. The secret agent’s mission is to stop Mr. Big (Yaphet Kotto), a heroin magnate, from converting everyone in the Western Hemisphere into heroin addicts. The Bond girl is a psychic tarot card reader, Solitaire (Jane Seymour).

“The Man with the Golden Gun” (1974) — Roger Moore, Britt Ekland, Christopher Lee, directed by Guy Hamilton

Bond is dispatched on a mission to recover a sensitive solar energy weapon in the Pacific. In the process, he is targeted by a notorious assassin Scaramanga (Christopher Lee). Britt Ekland’s Mary Goodnight tries to help Bond thwart Scaramanga’s efforts.

“The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977) — Roger Moore, Barbara Bach, directed by Lewis Gilbert

“The Spy Who Loved Me” is hailed by many film critics as Roger Moore’s best critically acclaimed Bond Film. This installment shows James Bond 007 team up with a sexy Russian spy named Triple X (Barbara Bach) to stop an evil villain who plans to obliterate the entire New York City with a nuke.



“Moonraker” (1979) — Roger Moore, Lois Chiles, directed by Lewis Gilbert

Agent 007 travels to outer space to foil yet another plot to destroy the whole planet with an atomic weapon.



“For Your Eyes Only” (1981) — Roger Moore, Carole Bouquet, directed by John Glen

James Bond is on a hot pursuit of a lost shipwreck, which carries an encryption device. Along the way, he is joined by revenge-seeking Melina (Carole Bouquet) to prevent the decrypting code from falling into the wrong hands.



“Octopussy” (1983) — Roger Moore, Maud Adams, directed by John Glen

“Octopussy” is the 13th installment in the franchise. This time around, Bond tries to unravel the death of a fellow agent. In the process, he uncovers a jewel-smuggling operation, headed by the mysterious Octopussy, who’s planning a nuclear attack against the NATO forces.



“A View to a Kill” (1985) — Roger Moore, Christopher Walken, Tanya Roberts, directed by John Glen

“A View to a Kill” is Roger Moore’s last outing as James Bond. In this 14th episode of the franchise, Agent 007 is dispatched to investigate a horse-racing scam, which leads him to a megalomaniac who plans to destroy the home of computer chip manufacturing, California’s Silicon Valley.
