Bomb Squad Called to Hollywood to Check Out 'Suspicious Box'

The box was full of movie props.

A suspicious box in the Melrose district prompted a bomb squad investigation today, but only movie props were found inside, police said.

The bomb squad was called about 9:30 a.m. to the area of Melrose Avenue and Gardner Street, said Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

The box was determined to contained “movie props only” and the all clear was given at 11:45 a.m., she said.

It was unclear what type of movie props were in the box, she said.

Traffic was routed away from the area during the investigation.
