HOLLYWOOD, CA โ€” Six people were arrested over the weekend after being caught hanging a banner on the Hollywood Sign's "O" as part of a now-viral stunt.

"Six suspects trespassed all the way up to the Hollywood Sign in an attempt to hang a banner on the 'O.' Thanks to the quick response of Hollywood officers, working in partnership with L.A. City Park Rangers, all six individuals were safely arrested without incident," the Los Angeles Police Department wrote in an Instagram post.

The suspects recorded their journey for social media โ€” the group was advertising the cryptocurrency platform Pump.fun, which allows audiences to invest in Internet personalities and influencers, KTLA reported.

Jake Hillhouse, who goes by @SoIJakey on X, narrated the effort in a video, which showed the group scrambling with ropes and tarps and a police helicopter circled overhead.

โ€œStep one, get supplies. Step two, and probably the hardest step, build the tarp. โ€ฆ Step five โ€” well, this isnโ€™t really a step โ€” we all got arrested,โ€ Hillhouse said in the video.
