Crews Extinguish Hollywood Apartment Fire
Firefighters needed 24 minutes Friday evening to extinguish a fire in a two-story apartment building under renovation in Hollywood.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters needed 24 minutes Friday evening to extinguish a fire in a two-story apartment building under renovation in Hollywood.
Crews responded to 1555 Gordon St., between Hollywood and Sunset boulevards, at 11:15 p.m. and encountered smoke coming from the bottom floor, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"The fire was on the first floor (and) moved up a wall into the second floor," Stewart said. "Firefighters made their way into the attic to ensure all was clear."

A total of 45 firefighters battled the flames and a knock down was declared at 11:39 p.m., Stewart said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
