Fire Breaks Out At Hollywood Hotel Near In-Room Wall Heater: LAFD

Firefighters battled a fire inside a Hollywood hotel room that broke out near a wall heater, the LAFD said.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A fire broke out at a Central Hollywood hotel Friday night and no one was injured, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the Las Palmas Hotel at 1738 N. Las Palmas Ave., just north of Hollywood Boulevard, Friday at 8:12 p.m. It took 38 firefighters 21 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the fire, which broke out in one of the rooms, according to the LAFD.

The flames, described by firefighters as stubborn, were located near a wall heater unit. A sprinkler system also helped keep the blaze at bay, according to the LAFD.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, firefighters said.
