EAST HOLLYWOOD, CA — A fire that broke out at an abandoned building in East Hollywood spread to a two-family home Friday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to a vacant single-family home at 1159 N. Berendo St., just east of Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, Friday at 5:45 a.m. Crews worked to defend surrounding buildings from the blaze as the fire spread to the attic of a duplex to the north, the LAFD said.
It took 60 firefighters about a half hour to extinguish both fires. No injuries were reported, according to the LAFD.
