This summer, New York’s favorite outdoor event goes Hollywood! Saturday, June 2 marks the West Coast debut of the Hester Street Fair, and to celebrate, the summer-event series will kick off with the Bite Size Food and Craft Festival.

Serving tasty tidbits of all flavors, the Bite Size Food and Craft Festival will feature a carefully-edited selection of Los Angeles’ favorite restaurants, indie food chefs and food trucks — all who will transform their most popular dishes into Bite Size portions.

Each menu features “Bite Sized” items to encourage foodies to taste and discover something new. With over 100 amazing arts and crafts, vintage vendors and collectors hailing from both coasts, the festival will applaud the best and the brightest, bringing an impressive assortment of eye candy, artistic treasures, and chic gems to shoppers of all stripes. Tap the day off in the craft beer garden with a menu of specialty microbrews and live music performances.

For the premiere event, food truck darlings CoolHaus and Dosa Truck will be joining the fun along with Los Angeles’ best merchants. Summer blooms with Mi Bazaar Latino’s jewelry and accessories. The delightful collection of vintage-inspired pieces is handmade in Southern California. HumanTreeRobot’s founding artistMark S. Brunner paints delicate tableaus, capturing nature and the human experience. And Long Beach design studio Poster List offers an assortment of prints and lifestyle items, stylishly infused with typography, surfing, skateboarding, mid-century design and more.

The fair will introduce a sampling of New York’s best-loved vendors, including accessory stars Wink&Flip’s super-glam jewelry collection and Serena Van Rensselaer’s handmade metal smith designs. Purple Yamserves up bite-sized plates of delicious noodles, dumplings, pancakes and rolls, followed by gourmet marshmallows and handmade sweet treats baked by Brooklyn’s Kitty Lee Thomas Sweets. Look for standoutMacaron Parlour who launched their business during the Hester Street Fair’s inaugural year and will soon open their first patisserie on St. Marks Place in New York’s East Village filled with a rainbow of macaroons and flavors to match!

Unveiling four fun-filled events this summer, the Hester Street Fair will present a dynamic block of programming, featuring favorite artisans, indie designers, collectors, food, brands, bloggers, music and more. All music events will be curated by downtown New York’s Santos Party House.

The Hester Street Fair is a highly-curated event series born in New York City’s Lower East Side neighborhood. Featured as #1 on Time Out New York’s 101 Things To Do in NYC, the Hester Street Fair is a marketplace championing entrepreneurs, small businesses, and first-time vendors and is recognized in the community as a launching pad for new businesses. Each vendor is handpicked, highlighting craftsmen, artisans, makers, and specialized collectors who represent the best in food, beverage, music, and arts and crafts. “Discovery and surprise are both a huge theme in the way we approach our markets. We want shoppers to discover new things, to be surprised by something they’ve seen or tasted,” SuChin Pak adds. “At the end of the day, everything you find at the market is about quality and passion.”

Located on Hollywood Blvd, one block east of the historic intersection of Hollywood and Vine, the Hester Street Fair will be a summer shopping destination. The parking lot that the fair will occupy will eventually be home to a community-focused apartment and retail project being developed by DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners and Clarett West Development. Frank Stephan of Clarett West expressed, "we are excited to help bring the energy of the Hester Street Fair to the West Coast,” and adds, “we are thrilled that the market events are starting as we break ground on our apartment project across the street. We are happy to be working with SuChin and her team and welcome them to the neighborhood."
