Hollywood Burglary Suspect Escapes Officers In Foot Chase

Police set up a perimeter and used a police dog to try to track down the suspect in Hollywood.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police conducted an extensive search for a burglary suspect who ran away from officers Sunday and into an apartment building in Hollywood.

The search ended at 10:55 a.m. and the suspect remained at large, said Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

At about 6 a.m., there was a report of a burglary in the area of Yucca Street and Cahuenga Boulevard and when officers arrived they confronted a possible burglary suspect, who triggered a foot pursuit, Lopez said.

The suspect ran into an apartment building in the area of Yucca Street and Wilcox Avenue, where a perimeter had been set up, and a K-9 unit was summoned to the scene to assist in the unsuccessful search for the suspect, he said.
