Man Aims Rifle At Charter School Employee, Triggering Lockdown: LASD
The confrontation occurred in the drop-off line of the elementary school, authorities said.
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man was taken into custody after he drove through the drop-off line at an elementary school campus in West Hollywood and pointed a gun at an employee, according to police.
Deputies responded around 8:45 a.m. Thursday to Larchmont Charter School in the 1200 block of North Fairfax Avenue, according to the sheriff’s department.
The man had driven through the school parking lot, playing loud music, and then left the location, returning around 8:35 a.m. via the drop-off line, authorities said. After waiting to reach the front of the line, he got out of his vehicle, retrieved a rifle and pointed it at the victim, before returning to the vehicle without firing and driving away, according to the department.

Los Angeles police identified the victim as a school employee. Larchmont was briefly locked down in response to the incident.
The man was found in the 6800 block of Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles by sheriff’s deputies, according to the department, which added he was arrested and a weapon was recovered.

“There are no reported injuries and no active threat to the community,” Los Angeles police said in a social media post. “As always, if you see something say something, and report it to your local police department.”
