Megan Thee Stallion Opens A Popeyes Chicken Restaurant

MIAMI BEACH, FL — Megan Thee Stallion is going from chart toppers to chicken tenders.

The rapper announced last week on social media that she is now the franchise owner of a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location in the South Beach area of Miami Beach.

She posted a video Dec. 31 on Instagram in which she is wearing a Popeyes crop top, meeting the staff and prepping a meal at the restaurant.

"This is going to be the best experience for me. I hope it's going to be a great experience for y’all,” she told the staff in the video. "I hope that this is a fun job. I hope everybody's having a blast."

The rapper added that she wanted "to lead with love" and that "I want everybody to lead with kindness, that's my main thing.”

In a previous Instagram post in April, Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, shared a video of herself visiting the construction site for the restaurant.

Other celebrities showed enthusiasm for the venture, with SZA commenting congratulations on last week's post and Taraji P. Henson offering words of support.
