โ€œFifty Shades Freedโ€ โ€” Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, directed by James Foley

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in โ€œFifty Shades Freed,โ€ the climactic conclusion of the erotic โ€œFifty Shadesโ€ trilogy. This time around, the power couple are faced with a looming threat as they begin to embrace their idyllic existence as newlyweds.

Skip it. The movieโ€™s cinematography is enticingly gorgeous. Its narrative, on the other hand, is convoluted with meandering subplots. Despite the leadsโ€™ convincing performances, the final chapter simply loses its sex appeal by the end.

โ€œPeter Rabbitโ€ โ€” James Corden, Domnhall Gleeson, Margot Robbie, directed by Will Gluck

Beatrix Potterโ€™s tale about a bullheaded bunny comes to life on the big screen thanks to James Corden, who performs the voice role of Peter Rabbit. In the movie version, Peterโ€™s battle for control of the vegetable garden escalates as Old Mr. McGregorโ€™s great-nephew Thomas (Domnhall Gleeson) inherits the place. Aiding Peter in his efforts are his triplet sisters: Flopsy (voiced by Margot Robbie), Mopsy (voiced by Elizabeth Debicki) and Cottontail (voiced by Daisy Ridley).

See it. Aside from a few clichรฉs, the movie is a hybrid of live action and animation that is smart, charming and funny. However, if you are a stickler for Potterโ€™s โ€œTale of Peter Rabbit,โ€ be forewarned: this movie version strays from the original.

โ€œThe 15:17 To Parisโ€ โ€” Alex Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone, directed by Clint Eastwood

From Clint Eastwood comes a thriller-drama about the struggles of childhood and unwavering friendship. The real-life story depicts three heroic men whose brave acts thwart a terrorist attack on a high-speed train bound for Paris in 2015. The real-life heroes, Alex Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler and Spencer Stone, actually portray themselves in the film.

Skip it. Undoubtedly, Eastwood has once again delivered a stirring tribute to everyday heroes. However, his latest film lacks the searing emotional tone and powerful sparks of his two previous outings: โ€œAmerican Sniperโ€ and โ€œSully.โ€
