Murdered LA Rapper Nipsey Hustle Wins At BET Awards

Nipsey Hustle, the Los Angeles rapper who was murdered in March, posthumously won Best Male Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards on Sunday.

LOS ANGELES -- Nipsey Hustle, the L.A. rapper who was murdered earlier this year, posthumously won Best Male Hip-Hop Artist at the 2019 BET Awards on Sunday.

Hussle was gunned down in South Los Angeles on March 31 in front of his clothing store.

Also at the awards show, which was held at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, rapper Cardi B grabbed two trophies, four months after collecting her first career Grammy Award. She was named best female hip-hop artist and won best album for ``Invasion of Privacy.''

She was nominated for five other awards.

Megastars Beyonce and Bruno Mars took home best female and best male R&B/Pop Artist honors.

Rappers DJ Khaled and YG and singer John Legend collaborated in a tribute to Hussle during the show.

Regina King and Michael B. Jordan were named best actress and best actor.
