Razzie Award Nominations: Here Are The Best Of The Worst Movies Of 2016

The nominations of the 2017 Razzie Awards have been unveiled! Satirical by nature, they are the creme de la creme of the worst movies of 2016, bestowed by the Golden Raspberry Foundation.

What’s new at this year’s Razzies? According to the Foundation, 2016 has left an indelible stamp in its 37-year history as one rich with so much cinematic misfires. As a result, it has expanded from five nominees to an unprecedented six contenders in each of its nine Worst Achievement in Film categories.

Leading the pack of this year’s worst films is the fashionista-sequel “Zoolander No. 2,” with nine nominations, followed by the comic book battle flick “Batman v Superman,” with eight nominations. Both movies snagged nods for Worst Picture and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel. Other Worst Picture nominees include “Dirty Grandpa,” “Gods of Egypt,” “Hillary’s America” and “Independence Day: Resurgence.” However, "Zoolander 2" has the dubious distinction of earning the most number of nominations — nine altogether.

The winners of this year’s Razzies will be announced on Saturday, Feb. 25 — one day before the 89th Academy Awards.
