Rita Wilson To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award

The "Sleepless In Seattle" actress will be honored during the Hollywood Chamber's 2021 Installation Gala.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Actress Rita Wilson will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce during Thursday's 2021 Installation Gala. This year's event celebrate the chamber's 100th anniversary, along with 60th anniversary of the Walk of Fame.

New board members for 2021-2022 will also be installed during the event. Nicole Mihalka, managing director at commercial real estate company JLL, will chair the chamber for the upcoming term.

The gala will start with a networking event at 6 p.m. Thursday, with the program starting at 6:30 p.m. Rana Ghadban, President & CEO of the chamber, will host the ceremony, while Wilson will perform her song "I Wanna Kiss Bob Dylan" during the event.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has navigated these unprecedented times and overcame the challenges we all faced this year with the support, dedication and leadership of our board of directors,” said Rana Ghadban. “Our Board has exemplified the definition of community leadership and has helped the Chamber achieve many of its strategic goals this year in spite of the pandemic. As President and CEO, I am proud and honored to work alongside our incoming board and lead the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce into the next 100 years."

Wilson received her star on the Walk of Fame in 2019 in celebration of her film career. She has appeared in numerous movies such as Sleepless in Seattle, The Story of Us, and Runaway Bride.

Wilson has also released four studio albums, beginning in 2012 and most recently with Halfway to Home in 2019.

In March 2020, Wilson and her husband Tom Hanks announced they had contracted coronavirus while in Australia. After recovering, they decided to donate their blood for research toward then-forthcoming vaccines.
