SUV Plows Into Hollywood Liquor Store, Five Hospitalized

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Several pedestrians were injured after an SUV ran off the road and slammed through the glass storefront along Hollywood Boulevard Friday afternoon. The crash happened around 3:40 p.m. at 6818 W Hollywood Blvd, near the El Capitan Theater.

Five people were taken to the hospital, four of which were in serious-to-critical condition. A reporter and photographer who were working on a story for Fox 11 were among those transported, Fox 11 reported.

Another patient declined to be taken to the hospital, according to Nicholas Prange of LAFD. Prange said the building was not structurally damaged.

The collision was under investigation, and LAPD said the male driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
