Transient Stabs Hollywood Boulevard Gift Shop Employee: Police

A homeless man allegedly stabbed an employee at a Hollywood Boulevard gift shop for asking him to leave.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A homeless man who allegedly stabbed an employee of a Hollywood gift shop in the arm was in custody Monday.

The crime occurred about 10 a.m. Saturday in the 6600 block of Hollywood Boulevard, said Los Angeles police Officer Drake Madison.

Tysean Gaston, 22, was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, Madison said. He was being held on $1 million bail, according to the sheriff's department.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, and was expected to survive, Madison said.

According to witnesses, the injured man was stabbed in the arm when he told the suspect, who was in a wheelchair, to move away from the business because the suspect was allegedly smoking marijuana.
