HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters found a woman dead in a tent after extinguishing an outdoor fire that broke out in Hollywood Thursday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the fire, which broke out just south of Fountain Avenue and Vine Street, Thursday before 10 a.m. Crews quickly extinguished the flames, which were threatening a nearby commercial building on Vine Street, firefighters said.

After the flames were extinguished, firefighters found a woman dead in what appeared to be a tent next to the building. A man was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation, firefighters said.

Arson investigators, the Los Angeles Police Department and the Medical Examiner responded to conduct an investigation, firefighters said.
