- On Wednesday, officials announced the presence of another oil sheen a mile off Bolsa Chica State Beach. This is the third oil sheen warning in three weeks. There is no word yet where this sheen came from. (Patch, @CalSpillWatch)
- A shoutout to 11-year-old Santiago Corso! We learned recently that Santiago is one of the children participating in the Food Network’s “Kids Baking Championship” along with two other OC children from Yorba Linda. Once again, Valerie Bertinelli and Duff Goldman will be on hand to work with the contestants. Watch them at 8 PM on Monday in what promises to be the “youngest kid bakers season.” (The Catholic Telegraph)
- After Michelle Steel announced her bid for the 45th Congressional District, “small business owner and America First conservative” Brian Burley announced his run for the 47th District. In the Wednesday announcement, the candidate noted that he “can’t wait to re-engage with the tens of thousands of voters who have supported me in the past.” He faces competition from Representative Katie Porter, who also wants the seat that includes oversight of HB. (@Burley4Congress)
- Cottie Petrie-Norris announced Wednesday that she will run for re-election in the new Assembly District 73. It is currently represented by Laurie Davies. Petrie-Norris currently represents the 74th District, which contains 49% of HB. The remainder of HB is represented in District 72 by Janet Nguyen. (@VoteCottie)
- There will be trash pick-up at all residences this holiday weekend. However, there will be “no commercial or multifamily trash pick-up service on 12/25 and 1/1.” Also, HB “street sweeping citations have been suspended for the rest of the month and will resume on Monday, January 3rd.” (@CityofHBPIO, 2)
