  1. The last time we reported on Bartlett Park, it was to inform neighbors about the Public Works and Homeless Task Force cleanup. On Saturday, passersby saw what looked like a naked body. However, it turned out that the “naked body” was actually a mannequin that was part of a Fire Department training exercise. (FB)
  2. The Kiwanis Club restores everyone’s faith in humankind. Last Saturday, the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach took over the HB Walmart’s garden department. There, they welcomed 50 Oakview children and their families with crafts, a visit with Santa, and some much-needed shopping. (HB News)
  3. OC District Attorney Todd Spitzer knows that retail theft is out of control. On Sunday, we learned that one woman has been charged for allegedly stealing products worth more than $328,000 from Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. She is a Costa Mesa resident who attempted to “resell the stolen items through a luxury item online consignment store.” “These are not victimless crimes and if you engage in these kinds of outrageous theft schemes we’re going to arrest you, we’re going to prosecute you, and we’re putting you behind bars,” Spitzer said. (New Santa Ana)
  4. Orange County Coastkeeper members and friends were out in full force on Saturday. About 200 conducted an HB beach cleanup. After the King Tides and rainfall, they expected to find about 300 pounds of trash. (Patch)
  5. The Dos Amigos Cantina at 21022 Brookhurst Street has been open since October 27. It has quickly become the local hangout for Monday Night Football. Of course, it also welcomes you for Football Thursday. And let’s not forget the musical acts. (FB)
