- A Ruddy Duck and an Eared Grebe were the first rehabilitated birds to be released. Caught in the oil spill, they needed plenty of washing and “conditioning in an outdoor pool” for the duck to get ready. Other birds are still being cared for. (KTLA)
- Protestors called for an end to offshore drilling. They targeted Rep. Michelle Steel, who they claimed had a “history of voting against the infrastructure bills and has collected money from offshore oil companies in the past.” Her office countered with the statement that she is “focused on practical solutions that will have an immediate impact on safety. She supports and continues championing efforts to protect our coastline.” (CBS)
- The latest business to sue over the oil spill is a Costa Mesa bait shop. It’s another class-action targeting Amplify Energy. The suit alleges “wrongful acts and/or omissions.” (Spectrum News 1)
- Cars N’ Copters is coming to 21351 PCH! Proceeds benefit the HB Police and Community Foundation. There’ll be about 400 cars that include the rare Koenigsegg and the less rare Lamborghini and McLaren. There’ll also be helicopters! (Cars Copters Coast)
- The Surf City USA Marathon is coming back next year! There’ll be the beach mile, 5K and a half and full marathon. Even though it won’t take pace until February, you can already register. (Visit Huntington Beach)
