- The FBI is joining the oil spill investigation. It’s the latest agency to join several state and federal three-letter outfits that are trying to find out what happened. There’s no word if it’s civil or criminal. (Andrew Blankstein)
- In spite of the release of two previously-oiled birds, it’s bad news. Oiled birds are still trickling in. Half of them die. (Fox)
- The OC Health Care Agency warns of bacteria in the water. Levels exceeded acceptable standards at Mariner’s Point Fuel Dock. This is situated at Huntington Harbor in HB. (@ochealth)
- The oil spill’s fallout is not over. Even though beaches have reopened, fisheries are still in limbo. Officials estimate they will be keeping them shut down for two to four weeks longer. (Patch)
