  1. On Tuesday, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer warned those selling illicit drugs that his office will now “charge convicted drug dealers with murder if they manufacture or sell drugs, including fentanyl, and someone dies as a result.” The DA noted that the drug overdoses you’re hearing about in the news could be murders. He also warned those buying drugs on the street that they are likely getting a product laced with deadly fentanyl. (KTLA)
  2. Did you see the youngsters flocking to Edison High School at 21400 Magnolia Street on Saturday? No, they weren’t there for weekend school. Instead, they came to support the Edison High School Foundation for a “volunteer campus clean-up event.” They picked up trash from underneath hedges, along the edges of playing fields, and all across the campus. (HB News)
  3. There’s a good chance that the banking experience you’re accustomed to is going the way of the dodo bird. According to a Tuesday report, banks have realized during the pandemic that customers are not opposed to doing a lot of banking online, and having a skeleton staff may be the way to go. Instead, of going back to standard teller lines, interactions might be “kiosk style with financial advisors on hand to assist customers.” (NBC)
  4. American Legion Post 133 is hosting today’s Veterans Day ceremony at City Hall Plaza. The setup is behind the building. The occasion begins at 11 AM and ends with a rifle salute. (HBPost133)
  5. Another significant parcel of commercial real estate changed hands last month. As reported yesterday, the 18-acre property at 1095 Pullman Street in Anaheim went to a San Diego investor. They paid $53 million for a property that had been listed for $60 million. Right now, the property houses a Home Depot store. (The Real Deal)
