- There will be a Fido to go!™ treat truck in HB! The new west coast route brings “all-natural cookies, frozen yogurts, and PupCups for healthy snacks” to dog lovers and their pooches. Look for the yellow truck at Huntington Dog Beach beginning in early October! (PR News Wire)
- What are OC cities doing with the money they received from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)? Huntington Beach decided to use its $30 million for “18 different projects including building a world class skatepark, permanent supportive housing, business loans and broadband infrastructure improvements throughout the city.” In contrast, Irvine is spending a lot on its city staff. - Participate in the CPR AED training! In October, you have two opportunities to do so, on the 20th and 23rd. The cost is only $60 for participation in the three-hour class. (City of HB)
- Miguel Garibaldi, an aviation mechanic, Cameron Tuzon, an aviation machinist, and Moises Mercado, an aviation structural mechanic, are members of the U.S. Navy. This weekend, you are seeing them fly in the airshow. Incidentally, the “U.S. Navy Blue Angels team celebrates its 75th anniversary.” (Times of San Diego)
- The Senior Center is showing the younger folks how it’s done. On Saturday, November 13, its members will be “leading a 1 mile and 5K walk through Central Park.” The Walk for Wellness starts at 8 a.m. (@HB Community & Library Services)
