During 2022, KSUSA is celebrating its 20th year promoting the sport. Kneeboard Surfing and Festival were sidelined during the pandemic in 2020. As the world fought to return to normalcy in 2021, the Huntington Beach premier kneeboarding event organizers decided to cancel the event for one more year. Now, with 2022 close enough to touch, the Kneeboard Surfing USA Titles and Kneeboard Festival is once again opening up for entrants.

One of the premier kneeboarding events in the world, the Kneeboard Surfing USA Titles attracts dozens of the sport’s top competitors. In addition to the Open division, the 2022 event will feature Women’s, Junior’s, and Pro Junior’s divisions.

"This year’s event is being dedicated to the memory of Don Harris, founder and long-time president of KSUSA. Harris passed away in October 2019 while surfing in Northern California," a spokesperson said. "Special tributes are planned during the event including the first presentation of the Don Harris Trophy to the Open division champion."

The 2022 US Kneeboard Surfing USA Titles is the last major contest for U.S. competitors prior to the 2022 World Titles being held in Costa Nova, Portugal September 8-18.

Brad Colwell, KSUSA President, discussed the return to the Orange County beaches.

“We are excited to return the US Kneeboard Titles to the south side at Huntington Beach on February 18 and again showcase contemporary, radical kneeboard surfing. Don Harris was a visionary who had a great impact on the US and international kneeboard surfing communities. Don’s founding principle of KSUSA was to promote camaraderie in the kneeboard community."

One of the longest-running events of its kind in the world, KSUSA has previously hosted 13 U.S. Titles and one World Titles event.
