  1. The 2021 Pacific Airshow will include a fly-over by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Scheduled for October 1 through 3, the show will include a joint performance of the “U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.” The Thunderbirds have a new routine to show off. (Fox 11)
  2. A 43-year-old man was shot by the Huntington Beach PD. The shooting occurred as the U.S. Open of Surfing event was ending for the day. The man was allegedly armed. If you witnessed the shooting, you have the opportunity to participate in emotional support services by Be Well OC's Tony Delgado at (949) 300-0175. (ABC 7)
  3. Huntington Beach High School was the showdown for anti-mask protestors. Having already made their voices heard at school board meetings, they figured they would take their message where it would be heard loud and clear: school children! “We’re just high schoolers. We just had a long day of school. We just don’t really have the energy to deal with these people" one kid told Fox 11. I hear you, kid. (California City News)
  4. The City has made changes to its short-term rental rules. It now allows rental owners “to continue to list their properties on sites like Airbnb or Vrbo without a permit until Dec. 31.” One reason was the difficulty some rental owners had in filling out all the necessary paperwork. (Voice of OC)
  5. Insiders warn that sea levelscould rise up to six feet by 2100." This means, “80% of surf breaks in California will be unsurfable with just three-feet of sea level rise.” Even if you are not doing it for the environment, it’s time to get serious about global warming. (Surfrider Foundation)
