- Will your kid’s school give COVID-19 vaccines? There’s a good chance that by the middle of November, this will be a reality. The goal is to get children and their parents vaccinated before the winter holidays begin. At this time, “the vaccines won’t yet be mandatory for returning to the classroom.” However, Governor Newsom anticipates that a mandate for kids to get their shots will happen in January or July. The good news is that “there’s a strong antibody response in children who received the vaccines and over 90% efficacy.” (Voice of OC)
- The OC Health Care Agency wants your kids to stay healthy this Halloween. Suggestions include staying outdoors, wearing a mask, or handing out candy outside. Besides that, there are the usual safety tips of wearing reflective clothes and shoes, bringing along glow sticks and flashlights, and being careful when crossing streets. (@ochealth)
- The HBPD is hiring! The agency is looking for police recruits as well as experienced police officers and 911 dispatchers. You can find the PD at 2000 Main Street in Huntington Beach. (HBPD)
