- The canceled Surf City Splash on Saturday did not put a damper on the New Year. Prospective participants and spectators simply went for a midday stroll on Main Street. “Restaurants and cafés along Main Street filled up with families relaxing and having a midday snack, while others strolled the Winter Vendor Village in Pier Plaza looking for unusual bargains.” (HBN)
- The Cherry Blossom Festival is planned for March 11 through 13. There is currently an open call for performers. “Your work can be as traditional as Gagaku or as contemporary or unconventional as you can imagine.” The Festival also still needs sponsors and vendors. (OCCB Fest)
- John Wayne Airport canceled more flights. As of Monday morning, there were 21 canceled flights. Sunday, there were 10 canceled flights at this airport. (Daily News)
- Xpress Urgent Care announced Monday that its Los Alamitos facility is now open. Located at 4332 Katella Avenue, the facility treats “patients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.” In addition to its urgent care services, the facility is also an authorized VA clinic. (Xpress, 2)
- If you’ve run out of places to go eat, check out VEG’D at 280 Bristol Street. It is billed as “Costa Mesa’s plant-based, drive-thru restaurant.” Insider tips are the Good Morning Sammie, antioxidant-rich smoothies, and the Hot Chik. (Locale Magazine)
