  1. PSA: The City reminds residents that the 2021 Pacific Airshow will be performing from October 1-3. That said, participants will be practicing this week “throughout our airspace.” “Please do not call 911 unless it is a life-threatening emergency.” If you have any complaints, please call 714-536-5985 instead.   2. Huntington Beach UHSD students rank lowest for student voter registration. Of new 18-year-olds, only 27.7% of students are registered to vote. As part of the Future Voter Scorecard Campaign, organizers note that students from Laguna Beach are leading the pack with a registration rate of 41.1%. (Patch)
  3. Observe the Airbox closures! The zone will become verboten for swimmers, surfers, and any kind of vessel. The closure goes from today to October 3. (CityOfHB)
  4. Although the HBFD does not anticipate any problems, it wants boaters to be aware of safety procedures. If there is an emergency, call 911. If the vessel is in distress, you can use VHF channel 16, too. Take note of the buoy number closest to you. If you cannot see it, describe landmarks. (Huntington Beach Fire)
  5. The Swim Collective intends to move from the Convention Center to the Pasea Hotel & Spa in January. Citing the need for a “resort setting,” there will also be new brand displays.
