5 Things: Back to School, Prevent Sudden Death and Grunion Run

5 things Imperial Beachians should know about Wednesday.

1. Teens must register to receive free cardiac health screenings Saturday at Olympian High School in Chula Vista. The screenings to prevent Sudden Cardiac Arrest/Death are sponsored by the Eric Paredes Save a Life Foundation. Paredes was a seemingly healthy Steele Canyon High School sophomore who died suddenly in 2009.

3, The forecast for Imperial Beach Wednesday calls for partly cloudy skies and temperatures around 70 degrees. Winds out of the west 5-10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Click here to see the National Weather Service's seven-day forecast.

5. A workshop meeting to discuss topics important to the city of Imperial Beach that was scheduled to take place Wednesday has been canceled. The meetings are typically held once a season and include members of the Imperial beach City Council and heads of city departments.
