Brush Fire Breaks Out On Otay Mountain: Third In A Week

OTAY MESA, CA - Firefighters are working to extinguish a roughly 10 to 15-acre brush fire in a remote, hilly area off the Otay Mountain Truck Trail on Otay Mountain just north of the Mexican border, Cal Fire said. The blaze poses no structural threats.

This is the third brush fire in the area in less than a week and the nineteenth to break out this year. On Wednesday, firefighters contained a 70-acre brush fire that broke out in nearby Marron Valley, east of Otay Mesa.

On Tuesday, firefighters contained a 30-acre brush fire a few miles east of Otay Mesa and south of Otay Lake.
