As of 9 a.m. Tuesday the cheapest gas in Imperial Beach or west of Interstate 5 could be found atΒ All American Gas at the corner of 13th Street and Imperial Beach BoulevardΒ Β for $3.87.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped six-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $4.051, the fifth decrease in six days after increasing 13 times in 14 days.
The average price is nine-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 28.7 cents lower than one year ago, but 12 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The dropping pump prices are the result of lower wholesale prices that stem from a belief that supplies are adequate, according to Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
