Musicians Sing, Dance Fandango Between Border Fences

Musicians from San Diego and Tijuana converged on both sides of the U.S-Mexico border May 25 to play music and dance for the 6th Annual Fandango Fronterizo.

"The border fandango is a symbolic event. We're trying to show how music can build community even when communities are separated," said Adrian Florido, a Fronteras Desk reporter who narrated part of a video for a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the event. "Son jaracho is the perfect music for that because it's all about being together with friends."
